black body...
tell me r black bodies really black??????
if so then y do they appear to us
like it should not be visble to us
if it is absorbing the whole spectrum then we shud be able to see only its dimensions and nt the body

Re: black body...
ya ......its calld grey body.........
......the closest to blabk body are cbr's'........perhaps..........
but i think there is a black body...........
" BLACK HOLES "............
no photons can escape it..........!!!!

Re: black body...
black holes are black bodies
reason ->
they absorb all the radiations incident on them
question that may arise is that then they should also emit radiations (good absorber is a good emitter) but it doesn't seem to emit radiations .!!
as a matter of fact they do emit radiations , this all has to do with quantum uncertainty , don't ask me
ask mr hawking

Re: black body...
but the quantum uncertainity reveals about certain particles which are only hypothetical ask the batch of 1993 iit bombay
mr.hawking gave a lecture to that batch on the same topic\

..............well i hop so that i am rite or if wrong .......den u ppl come to a conclusion...............
so tell am i rite(black body-black hole) or wrong-(converese)

Re: black body...
black bodies tend to be excellent(100%)absorber of radiations(when cold) and reflect nothing when these are cold
but they are ideal source of thermal radiation(as slogger said)when hot
I suppose black holes are cold
nobody know how they behave when cold
so,they should be
(all copy-pasted from wikipedia shamelessly )

Re: black body...
i think i know a little bit on it since i have submitted a report to SETI on it(just a student reseearch programme.................)but it needs time.
ill surely recollect and tell u all(if i am right....)
