We were talking about the 4stage hypothesis of life and how it was predicted that life came from inroganic compounds such as NH3 etc. But she claimed that methane was inorganic.... at which point i swiftly stated that it wasnt as it contained the vital C that makes it organic. IM just checkin to make sure, who was right? also, is it true that although C defines organic nature, CO and CO2 are one of the only exceptions?

i thnk i will stick to my previous statement that derivates of hydrocarbons are organic compunds out of which CO and CO2 are not
